School for Shadows

Why Oddly Grimm Has Original Stories.

A dimly lit classroom where a young gothic woman and an older man face each other in a tense moment, with four seated adults watching from their desks; a scene from the upcoming Oddly Grimm series School for Shadows.

Blog Post 2 touched on why folklore exists — how old tales were once new, unsettling, and unfamiliar to the people who first heard them. Every legend began as an original story before time smoothed its edges and turned it into tradition.

Oddly Grimm follows the same path.

Alongside tales with roots stretching back through centuries, the Oddly Grimm universe also brings forward stories that have never been told before. Not retellings. Not reinterpretations. Originals. New shadows stepping into the world for the first time.

The image above is a scene from the upcoming Oddly Grimm series School for Shadows. At first glance, it looks like a normal classroom: a teacher, a student, a handful of others watching from their desks. But as with all things in Oddly Grimm, what you see may not be what you think.

This is where the original stories begin — in places that feel familiar, until they don’t. In moments that look ordinary, until they shift. In characters who appear one way, until the truth reveals something entirely different.

Oddly Grimm is not just revisiting the past.

It’s creating new tales for a new world.

Stories that belong to this universe alone.

And as the series unfolds, you’ll discover why some stories can only be told here — and why they could not exist anywhere else.
